Ali Alghanim &Sons rolls out expansion strategy in the Egyptian market

Kuwait, xx, 2022: Ali Alghanim and Sons recently announced the launch of its operations in the Egyptian market, the largest and one of the most important markets in the region, as a major shareholder in Global Auto. Global Auto is the official agent for BMW and MINI cars in Egypt, as assigned by the BMW Group, the world's leading manufacturer of luxury, sports and electric cars. The launch marks the first step towards Ali Alghanim & Sons expansion plan in the Arab Region.

The official announcement was made during a press conference held by Dr. Thomas Rehn, Africa and Eastern Europe President at BMW Group, Eng. Fahd Al-Ghanim, Chairman of Global Auto Group and Ali Alghanim &Sons, and Mr. Mohamed Kandil, CEO of Global Auto Group. At the conference was HE the Ambassador to the state of Germany to Egypt, Mr. Frank Hartmann, and HE the Ambassador to the State of Kuwait to Egypt, Mr. Ghanem Saqr Al-Ghanim, along with a group of leaders and managers of the global BMW Group and the Global Auto Group.

Global Auto is a joint-stock company founded by an Egyptian-Gulf partnership, which is jointly owned by Al Arjani Group, Al Safi Group, Mohamed Yusuf Naghi Automotive and Ali Alghanim Sons Automotive. Global Auto’s key responsibilities will focus on distribution, marketing and after-sale services for both BMW and MINI in the Egyptian market. Global Auto acquired the Bavarian Auto Group, the former agent of both luxury brands, in a deal that included the current network of service centers and showrooms, as well as the BMW car assembly plant, which includes three production lines with a total capacity of 10,000 cars annually.

Global Auto is due to begin re-manufacturing the first batch of cars next January, as the company owns one of the best car assembly plants in Egypt. It will also re-manufacture and produce BMW cars locally, and produce the latest cars that will be presented for the first time in the Egyptian market, in an effort to support and localize car manufacturing operations in the country in line with the state’s plan and Egypt’s 2030 vision. Eng. Fahad Alghanim expressed his joy with the launch of the new company, pointing out that it aims primarily at elevating the standards of local assembly operations. He also stated that the production and assembly processes were inspected through the use of a group of distinguished experts to raise the level of factory efficiency and increase its production to create job opportunities for Egyptians.

In addition to providing all BMW models, BMW M sports, BMW i electric cars, the BMW Premium Selection range of certified used cars, and luxury MINI models to all its customers in Egypt, Global Auto will also provide integrated services to customers under one roof, including car financing services and the various auto insurance programs. Moreover; and with the long experience and in-depth knowledge of Ali Alghanim & Sons that extends over three decades as an agent for the BMW Group, in the luxury car market in Kuwait and Iraq, Global Auto will also provide high-quality luxury BMW models and services and differentiated after-sales services.
